Summer Season:

- Club Registration fee (including training): $275.00

- Non-Training Teams Or 2nd Comp Registration: $190.00 FDBA & CADBA

Half of our teams are formed by friends who want to play together, and the other half are created based on new player enquiries. We work hard to find a team for each player, though team availability depends on current spots, new player interest, and the willingness of a parents to volunteer as a coach. We provide mentoring, training plans, and subs templates to support our volunteer coaches, ensuring they feel confident and equipped for the job.


Other Information

Basketball Victoria Annual Licence Fee

Basketball Victoria charges a licence fee of $32 per anum per junior player (and $43 per annum for seniors) to cover insurance. This fee will be added to your registration fee as a separate item once a year. If you have paid the fee in the previous season and use the same PlayHQ account to register, you will not be charged the fee again.

Basketball Australia Annual Participant Fee

Basketball Australia charges a participant fee of $5.50 per anum. This fee will also be added to your registration fee as a separate item once a year. Similarly, if you have paid the fee in the previous season and use the same PlayHQ account to register, you will not be charged the fee again.

Get Active Kids Voucher

The Get Active Kids Voucher Program is a Victorian Government initiative that assists eligible families in getting their children involved in organized sports and active recreation activities. Eligible children may receive up to $200 to cover the costs of membership and registration fees. If the program is available and you are eligible to apply for a voucher, please select Basketball Victoria (Provider #2951096) as the provider.

Uniforms

All players are required to purchase a Frankston Bobcats Basketball Club uniform. Prices for singlets and shorts are as follows:

- Singlet & Shorts from: $100.00

- Singlet from: $55.00

- Shorts : $45.00

Training

Training times will be allocated based on coach and court availability. While we cannot guarantee that you will receive the same training day and time as in previous seasons, we strive to accommodate preferences as much as possible. Training sessions are primarily conducted at Jubilee Park Stadium on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 4:00 pm and 6:15 pm.

Age Groups & Ball Sizes

Please be aware of the age groups for the Winter season and the associated ball size:

BALL SIZES
There are three different ball sizes used in basketball, ball sizes are determined by FIBA the sports international governing body:

  • U8 Boys/Girls - Size 5

  • U10 Boys/Girls - Size 5

  • U12 Boys/Girls - Size 5

  • U14 Boys/ Girls - Size 6

  • U16+ Girls - Size 6

  • U16+ Boys - Size 7


Fee Refund Policy

Registering to play with the Frankston Bobcats Basketball Club signifies an ongoing commitment to the club for the upcoming season. A player withdrawal after registration has closed is disruptive not only to individual teams but the entire age group. Therefore, the club will only refund fees for a season under the following circumstances:

1. The refund request is in writing and submitted to Frankstonbobcats@gmail.com

2. The refund request is received by the club within 14 days of registrations closing – a full refund less the PlayHQ processing fee of 1.89% will be paid.

3. The refund request is received by the club other than during the timeframe mentioned above – a partial fee refund, as per the table below, will be paid only if:

    - The player has been unable to play for a majority of the regular season due to injury, illness, or if the family moves away from the area.

    - The request is received by the club prior to the commencement of the final round of the season in which the injury, illness, or move occurred.

  • 3 games or less played - 75% refund

  • 4 to 6 games played - 50% refund

  • 7 games or more played - No refund

For the avoidance of doubt, refund requests will be denied if they do not meet the criteria mentioned above.
